The Role
With oversight and direction from the Director and Product Managers, the Category & Market Analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive and detailed internal sales and external market research and analysis in Taymor’s bath and locks categories to support product development decision-making and the development of Category Strategies and Stage Gate business cases.

The Category & Market Analyst frequently develops reports and presentations making influential recommendations based on the analysis of findings. This involves developing and compiling layers of information, creating and maintaining on-going files necessary to develop forecasts, and making recommendations on pricing for product lines, channels or customers. 

They also provide a strategic perspective in relation to data findings. Thinking beyond a tactical level of simple dissection of data, to apply findings to a “big picture” outlook, knowing which projects and strategic objectives are most relevant and how to scrutinize the data and communicate a deeper understanding of what the numbers actually represent. The Category & Market Analyst also ensures the integrity of the external market and competitor database, and monitors and develops internal reports measuring department results and other metrics.
Your qualifications, skills and competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in comparable role
  • Fluent use of English language both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of market research methodologies
  • Knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Understand forecasting, channels of distribution, planning processes, understand quantitative analysis and new product development process
  • Demonstrated ability to work across the organization and influence with or without formal authority
  • Local travel may be required on occasion
